According to recently published report of Actual Market Research "India PV Inverter Outlook 2021", Central inverters have dominated the solar industry since its initiation. The introduction of micro-inverters marks one of the biggest technology shifts in the PV industry to date. Manufacturers are touting 5-25% increase in power output, which in the long run can bring in a lot in savings for many homeowners. Although micro-inverters have been available since 1993, Enphase Energy is regarded as the company that first built a commercially successful micro-inverter. More than one million units of the Enphase M175 have been sold since its release in 2008. Several other companies in the solar industry have followed suit and launched their own micro-inverters, validating their potential. A solar micro-inverter, or simply micro inverter, is a device used in photovoltaics that converts direct current (DC) generated by a single solar module to alternating current (AC). The output from several micro inverters is combined and often fed to the electrical grid. Micro inverters contrast with conventional string and central solar inverters, which are connected to multiple solar modules or panels of the PV system. Micro inverters have several advantages over conventional inverters. The main advantage is that small amounts of shading, debris or snow lines on any one solar module, or even a complete module failure, do not disproportionately reduce the output of the entire array. Each micro inverter harvests optimum power by performing maximum power point tracking for its connected module. Simplicity in system design, simplified stock management, and added safety are other factors introduced with the micro inverter solution. Micro inverter technology offers several advantages over conventional systems with string inverters, the main advantage being, even small amounts of shading, dust, snow or debris on any one solar panel, or a panel failure, does not disproportionately reduce the output of an entire array. Each micro-inverter obtains optimum power by performing maximum power point tracking for its connected panel, thus improving efficiency. Primary disadvantages of micro inverters are that they have a higher initial cost per peak watt than a central inverter, and secondly, as they are located near the panel, they may be harder to reach and maintain. But these problems are surpassed by their higher durability, efficiency and ease of installation. According to the analysts, many vendors are involved in technology development to give better service to their customers and increase their competency in the market
