Spain's country is located in extreme south-western Europe and has a population of 47.50 million. It is the second largest automaker in Europe. The growth of the automobile industry has a direct impact on the automotive turbocharger market for better engine performance. A turbocharger is a device fitted to a vehicle's engine that is designed to improve its overall efficiency and increase performance. When an engine is fitted with a turbocharger, it is theoretically smaller and lighter than an engine producing the same power without a turbocharger. In Spain, car manufacturers use a wastegate turbocharger to reduce turbo lag issues. Additionally, it also assists automotive manufacturers to fulfil regulatory standards related to carbon emissions. For improving the performance and efficiency of gasoline and diesel fuel engines in automobiles, different research and development activities are done by manufacturer companies like TMI. Spanish turbocharger specialist TMI is acquired by a Danish remanufacturing automotive company.

According to the report titled "Spain Automotive Turbocharger Market Overview, 2027" published by Actual Market Research, the automotive turbocharger market of the country of Spain is expected to grow at a CAGR of more than 10% value market size by the end of the forecast period. In Spain, the turbocharger market is in a trend and different segments of turbochargers are available. Diesel fuel and gasoline fuel turbochargers are available on the basis of fuel type. Gasoline fuel turbocharging provides a low fuel consumption ratio and this type of turbocharger is designed to run at higher RPM. On the basis of technology type, three types of turbochargers are available: Variable Geometry Turbocharger (VGT), Wastegate turbocharger, and Electric turbocharger. The Wastegate turbocharger reduces the turbo lag to some extent and reduces engine weight also. Passenger vehicle and commercial vehicle turbochargers are present in Spain on the basis of vehicle type. Commercial vehicle turbochargers are normally used for heavy vehicles, and their market growth is moderate. On the basis of the sales channel, original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and aftermarket turbochargers are available. Different OEMs provide standard-quality turbochargers to different automakers.

The gasoline turbocharger product consists of additional attributes such as a recirculation valve and a water cooler bearing house to meet particular gasoline engine operational requirements. In a diesel turbocharger, the turbocharger is critical to the power output and efficiency of the diesel engine. It is the job of the turbocharger to compress more air flowing into the engine's cylinder. When air is compressed, the air molecules are packed closer together. The CAGR of gasoline turbochargers is expected to be higher during the forecasted period as compared to its past year data. OEM turbochargers provide the best alloy material turbochargers and have high durability. The OEM provides a guarantee of their turbocharger to the automaker. Aftermarket turbochargers are low-grade turbochargers and easily available on the e-commerce market. Growth is expected to be at its peak by 2027.

A VGT is a turbocharger wherein movable vanes are replaced by conventional fixed vanes, which can change angles to control the exhaust flow on the turbine blades. In a Wastegate turbocharger, the Wastegate is a valve that controls the flow of exhaust gases to the turbine wheel in a turbocharged engine system. The diversion of exhaust gases regulates the turbine speed, which in turn regulates the rotating speed of the compressor. An electrical turbocharger, either an electric boosting device or an electric compressor, is used to improve the power of the engine. The market attractiveness of VGT during the forecasted period is expected to have robust growth. Passenger vehicle turbochargers provide efficient torque to the car during high speeds, and along with that, they reduce the fuel consumption. Commercial vehicle turbochargers provide high and efficient power to the engines of trucks at heavy loads and at low speed. Passenger turbocharger demand is at a peak and it is expected that it will be the largest market by 2027.

In Spain, key factors which led to the growth in the automotive turbocharger market are government rules on the environment, innovation in technology, and demand among automakers. The various challenges faced by the automotive turbocharger market are people's attraction towards EVs, installation and maintenance costs of turbochargers, and limitations of turbochargers like turbo lag and heating effect on the engine.

Turbo3, founded in Barcelona in the 70’s, It sells, distributes and repairs genuine and original turbos and fans. Turbo3 is the first distributor of these turbochargers in Spain. Turbo3 has a wide range of new and original turbos for top brands for passenger cars, 4x4, vans, buses, trucks, agricultural and construction machinery. Turbo3 does not limit itself to the commercialization of products of the brand it distributes in Spain but also takes special care of the after-sales services.

COVID-19 affected the industry by forcing the manufacturers to shut down the assembly lines and pushing the economy down. With almost zero vehicular movements, there wasn't any new requirement for turbochargers to be installed in new vehicles and spare turbochargers for replacements in already present vehicles.
